What this site collects
This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and does not track you between visits. There is nothing to consent to, which is why you have not been shown a banner.
This site is served by Cloudflare, which keeps standard request logs when a page is loaded. Those include your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for. They exist to keep the site available and to block abuse, they are held for a short period, and they are not linked to you by name. The lawful basis is legitimate interests: a site that stays up and is not being attacked.
What we collect when you contact us
If you email us, we receive whatever you send: your name, your email address, and anything in the message itself. We use it to reply to you and to keep a record of the conversation.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: you have asked us a question and we need your details to answer it. If we later want to send you anything you did not ask for, we will ask your permission first.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry emails for as long as the conversation is useful, and review them periodically. Where you become a customer, we keep the records of that relationship for six years, which is the period we may need them for tax and contractual purposes.
Who else sees it
Two companies process data on our behalf, under contract and on our instructions only:
- Cloudflare hosts this website and serves its pages.
- Google provides the mailbox our email arrives in.
Both may process data outside the UK. Where that happens it is covered by the UK Addendum to the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, which is the safeguard UK data protection law requires for international transfers. Ask us and we will send you a copy. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- correct it if it is wrong;
- delete it, where we have no continuing reason to keep it;
- restrict or object to how we are using it;
- send it to you or someone else in a portable format.
Email hello@rectifylabs.co.uk and we will respond within one month. If a request is complex enough to need longer, we will tell you why and when to expect an answer. There is no charge.
Complaints
If you think we have handled your data badly, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or on 0303 123 1113.
